I’ve teamed up with Mamas & Papas on #InternationalWomensDay to unite and empower women all over the world. Whether you had a natural birth, assisted birth, used pain relief or ended in a c section you mama, are incredible!

Medal

I wear my scar as a medal,⠀⠀

It’s not a sign that my body failed,⠀⠀

Each birth and baby is different,⠀⠀

Doesn’t matter if my birth plan de-railed.⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I wear my scar as a medal,⠀⠀

For your entrance to earth side,⠀⠀

My body did the best it could,⠀⠀

But you were upside down inside.⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I wear my scar as a medal,⠀⠀

A different exit they created for you,⠀⠀

To get you out safely,⠀⠀

So we could grow to three from two.⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I wear my scar as a medal,⠀⠀

I am brave and I am strong,⠀⠀

I risked my life to have you,⠀⠀

And I knew my recovery would be long.⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I wear my scar as a medal,⠀⠀

It may be numb, big and bold,⠀⠀

It’s a permanent mark on my body,⠀⠀

But it’s my story that needs to be told.⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I wear my scar as a medal,⠀⠀

I’m not ashamed, I wear it with pride,⠀⠀

My body didn’t let me down,⠀⠀

It’s just went through a different ride.⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I wear my scar as a medal,⠀⠀

It doesn’t define who you are,⠀⠀

The story of when I became a mother,⠀⠀

You’re now so strong, you’ve come so far.⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I wear my scar as a medal,⠀⠀

It’s shaped me into who I’ve become,⠀⠀

I now know what’s really important in life,⠀⠀

To live my life being your mum.⠀
