Mama To Be: Never Underestimate The Power Of Community
Mamas-to-be we know the next few months are going to be tough. It’s inevitable that some parts of your pregnancy were going to challenging and that was before there was an added a dose of self-isolation – but don’t worry, we’ve got you! Our latest Never Underestimate The Power Of Community campaign is going to unite mamas, papas and parents-to-be just like you, so that you never feel alone.
We’ve created a list of things you can do over the course of the next 12 weeks to make time fly and reduce any anxieties and stress you may have.
Welcome to the movement; Never Underestimate The Power Of Community.
Whether you’re in your first trimester or third, you’re likely to feel some pesky aches and pains. You’ll probably feel a little overwhelmed and stressed at times too – but don’t worry, that’s totally normal.
Yoga is one of the best remedies to stretch out your body and is a great way to de-stress. From back pain to hip tension, from to heartburn to swollen ankles, some simple yoga stretches can totally change your mobility and mood.
The best part about yoga is you can do it anywhere with no equipment, all you need is a space to relax and switch off. Try your bedroom, living room or even the garden now the British sunshine has decided to say hello.
Don’t know where to start? Well then it’s a good job we’ve done the hard work for you. 8Fit’s Pre-natal Yoga is our favourite guide and is super easy to follow (you can thank us later!) Click here to read.
Creating a Baby Journal
Expecting a baby is undoubtedly one of the most exciting things you will go through in your lifetime. Designing a nursery, baby names and choosing outfits for your new addition are all special memories which you should keep note of, hence our second idea of a pregnancy journal.
Your journal can be a daily or weekly place to document your emotions, key memories, scan photos and even record baby’s first kick. You can shop our journal book by clicking here. Alternatively, you can get in touch with your creative side and start a scrapbook.
In times like these it’s vital that we remind ourselves every day that we are incredibly lucky and this situation is only temporary. We know sometime it’s hard to remain positive so here’s some tips, from both us and people who have already got involved in our Never Underestimate The Power Of Community campaign. Hopefully these tips will keep your spirits high Mama.
- Set a positive quote as your screensaver on your phone – this way every time your phone lights up you have a little reminder that you got this!
- Write a gratitude list. Take the time each night (or morning) to reflect and write down three things you’re grateful for. These can be small or big, as long as their positive and make you smile. Read your list as often as you can.
- Listen to your favourite music – this may sound simple but it works. Motivating songs and playlists can create a positive environment which will help you to feel fab.

As much as we love scrolling through the sea of meme’s on Facebook it can get very boring, very fast; so why don’t you try taking it old school and doing a little brain training? Don’t worry, we don’t mean algebra and trigonometry, we mean a word search, crossword or sudoku. They are simple, easy and cheap ways to keep you entertained.
We don’t know about you, but it’s been years since we’ve got stuck into a word search. So grab your favourite pen and a cuppa, sit back, relax and enjoy!
Forget twitter, forget Instagram, TikTok is the new kid on the block. Think a mash up of Harry Hills You’ve Been Framed, crossed with your favourite meme’s and a bunch of amateur comedians. You could easily spend hours engrossed, scrolling through laughing so hard your cheeks would hurt.
It’s our new favourite platform. We’ve been uploading challenges, mum and bump dance-offs and loads of adorable baby content. We’d LOVE you and your partners to get involved. Creating a TikTok is an amazing way to get involved with our Never Underestimate The Power Of Community campaign. All the family can get involved; mum, dad, the kids, the dog – all are welcome.
