Parent Approved Panellists, David & Chloe Shields give us the low down on their child’s bedroom with their nursery furniture & interiors review. With our Lawson furniture & Lilybelle interiors, they’ve given their little one’s bedroom a perfect makeover.

It seems like yesterday since we created our nursery Pinterest board and now we have an actual room for our baby girl! There is so much inspiration out there that we found it quite overwhelming to know where to start, but our Mamas & Papas Lawson furniture set made it much easier!

Lawson Furniture | Scandi Style

The Lawson range stood out to us because of its minimalist Scandi design. We love the contrast of the pinewood and white base, it’s such a bold feature yet it can blend in with a variety of styles. Elia’s room is quite narrow so we decided on the convertible cot-bed and changer dresser. The dresser has incredibly spacious drawers that can fit in so much with room to spare. We were able to fit our cloth nappies in the top drawer with no problem at all!

Another main feature we love about this range is its longevity. The dresser comes with a top changer that can be removed when it’s no longer needed; becoming a timeless piece of furniture that grows with the child. The cot also converts into a stunning first bed for your child which means this item could last up to four years!

Decorating the Nursery

Alongside the Lawson furniture, we were sent a few items from the Lilybelle interiors range. With the ditsy print and subtle forest theme we envisioned it fitting into what we planned for Elia’s room perfectly. With having a boy first we found ourselves gravitating towards pinks & peaches balanced out with some muted greens & this range had it all. If anyone knows us they know we adore the outdoors; particularly forests so I wanted a hint of that in the decor. With the little mushrooms, acorns and bunny prints this couldn’t have been more suited to our plans.

We went for the whole range which included;

A lampshade with ditsy print on the inside and decorated with a hand-embroidered design. It’s very unique and matches so well with the colour we decided to use for Elia’s ceiling.

Some curtains which have stunning dobby spot cotton texture and a ditsy print on the bottom finished with the most beautiful tie tops.

Fitted sheets which come in a pack of two; they’re 100% cotton which is so soft on Elia’s skin and have the sweetest designs on them. They match perfectly with the coverlet which is reversible so you can decide what pattern you want most prominent. When it gets a little chillier, the 2.5 tog dream pod is perfect for keeping your little one snug. This sleepbag is adorable as it is finished with a floral trim collar and pleating.

We also got the Lilybelle cot mobile which is a personal favourite of ours! It plays such smoothing music and will keep Elia so entertained, she can’t take her eyes off it. The hanging leaves, mushrooms and bunny are so delicate and the colours used are a beautiful mix of muted pastels. The velvet trim finishes it off perfectly and gives it such a luxurious feel.

In Conclusion…

We have found that the Lawson range and Lilybelle collection complement each other wonderfully. The finer details added to the decor really make the quality stand out as it’s clear so much time and effort has gone into the range. We’re so pleased with how Elia’s room has come together and love that she has this special space to treasure and grow alongside her.
